The maximum slope of a ramp that serves any exitway, provides handicap access or is in the path of travel shall be 1 foot rise in 12 feet of horizontal run.ĮXCEPTION: The slope of an existing ramp shall not exceed 1 foot rise to 8 feet horizontal run. The decking should be installed across the ramp, not down the ramp, as the edges of the wood provide a non-slip surface.
